Here we are with a week to go until the ORC bloggers (20 featured, hundreds of guests) reveal their projects! I predict that, at this time next week, hundreds of hours will have been spent checking them all out - and hopefully it's not just MY hours making up that number!
I hate to report too much, as my projects weren't quite so involved this time around, so the work has tapered off here at the end. I'm pretty much done! I am in this weird new world that I am struggling to understand: It's called KEEPING IT SIMPLE. What?! WHO AM I!? Add to this strange revelation the fact that my phone is currently refusing to email me my own photos, and even this update itself becomes increasingly SIMPLE.
Simple means that I'm probably going to hold off on hanging draperies in the dining room until I can find something PERFECT, and that didn't happen during the course of this challenge. For now, I'm fine with the blinds... Can you believe it!? Not only did I not end up wallpapering this room, which was an assumption of mine since I found out we were moving, but now no curtains!? Again - WHO AM I!?
Shocker. I will probably not add a rug, either. It was actually the rug that I had in the dining room of our last house that had me all hung up on the paint color in here. Once I finally removed that, the world was my oyster. So again, unless I see something I just MUST have, I'm not planning to put a rug in here. So then the artwork and the furniture are really all there is! That's not normally "me." But somehow it is. I think the bossy wall color is part of what is keeping me from getting too many things in here. I like that color so much that I hate to cover it all up!!!!
Also simple is our porch. The last week has been rainy and wet, so that confirmed my decision to leave things out there minimal. I have enough house to clean without needing to add this space to my dusting/vacuuming circuit. I love that I can wipe off the table and chairs with a quick swipe, and dinner (or breakfast!) can be served...
I'm at a stage in my life, with three smalls and a lot of housework, that I would rather keep things simple so that I have time to actually enjoy them. Novel concept, no? HAHA!
Ok. Quick and dirty was this post. All the deets next time at the reveal. I'm sure you're holding you're breath.
